Our sessions

  • 1-on-1: this ensures clients have their personal gaps identified and targeted with individualised, scaffolded learning.

  • Different session lengths: 30 minutes or 1 hour sessions.  We tailor the time and frequency to meet the client’s concentration levels.

  • Face-to-face: where possible, we can meet with clients face-to-face in their home, our office or in their school in the Yass Valley and North-Canberra region.

  • Online: we use a suite of interactive online tools and video conferencing and can service clients across the world.

Structured Literacy

Take a moment to think about doing something as simple as buying Zucchini at a self-serve cash register, when you don’t know the sound /z/.  How would you feel?  This is a real experience for some people.

At E2 Learning, we use evidence-based principles with instructional scaffolding to develop literacy.  We give our clients real-life skills.

Our principal specialist is accredited by the Australian Dyslexia Association in MSL (Multisensory Structured Language).  Other specialists are either MSL or OG (Orton-Gillingham) qualified.

Our sessions enable learning for people with learning differences.  These lessons help clients to boost their confidence, self-esteem and improve social engagement.

Writing Support

Writing Support

Imagine being able to get people to understand what you are thinking and what you want them to think about through writing.  Writing requires a lot more than understanding how to spell.

At E2 Learning, we can help clients understand the ‘planning’ to writing, as well as develop their fine motor skills to get ideas down on paper.

We teach ways to put words together in sentences, then paragraphs and how to combine them to complete different styles of essays.  We show clients when to use the right tense and tone.  We also teach proofreading strategies to help clients check their writing.

Like our structured literacy lessons, our writing sessions are explicit, scaffolded and individualised.  We tailor lessons so that reading, spelling and writing are covered.

Learning Assessments and Screens

“Being diagnosed with Dyslexia at age 60 was like the last part of the puzzle in a tremendous mystery that I’ve kept to myself all these years.”  Steven Spielberg.

You might ask, why did Steven Spielberg wait until he was 60 years old to be tested? The truth is typically assessments and screenings for learning differences are not consistently offered in schools.

E2 Learning uses evidence-based methodologies and assessors are suitably qualified to make screening assessments, however, screens are not a psychological diagnosis.

Our assessment operates on the Australian Dyslexia Association (ADA) premise that IQ tests are no longer required for dyslexia and language based identification, because reading and IQ are not correlated (Siegel and Stanovich).

A screening is approximately 2 hours.  Screens are completed face-to-face.  The final result will be a written report that will set out essential learning accommodations that should be applied to meet the Disability Standards for Education (2005), which are Australian Law under the Disability Discrimination Act (DDA) 1992.
